Diving in Bodrum

Your Turkish holiday aboard the Salamander Gulet is the perfect opportunity to get away from the daily grind of life and experience new things. If you’ve always wanted to go diving then we can easily arrange that for you upon request. A PADI qualified diving company will meet you in Bodrum, providing all the equipment necessary for you to enjoy diving into the clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea.

The Aegean Sea is awash with marine life, coral, natural sponge, and amazing underwater caves and walls; and the waters off the coast of Bodrum have long been known as one of the world’s premier diving destinations.

Where will my dive take me?

There are a number of popular dive sites off the coast of Bodrum, just a short boat ride out into the Aegean Sea. The Small Reef is just 15 minutes from the harbour and has depths between 5m and 26m. It is cylindrical in shape, and surrounded by walls which feature plenty of inlets and overhangs which are perfect for micro photography.

The Big Reef is 200m away from the Small Reef and is known to be the most beautiful and fascinating dive site in Bodrum. It has depths from 7m to 34m and walls which provide homes for a wide variety of marine life.

What will I see on my dive?

As you descend into the Aegean Sea on your dive you can expect to see a broad variety of marine life, including:

  • Octopuses
  • Moray eels
  • Groupers
  • Barracudas
  • Scorpion fish
  • Spiny lobsters
  • Stone fish
  • Turtles
  • Coral
  • Sponge
