When you think of Turkish nightlife you may think that cities like Istanbul and Ankara would have the most bars and clubs; but you’d be wrong. The coastal town of Bodrum actually has more bars and clubs than Istanbul, and its buzzing nightlife attracts thousands of tourists each year. When the sun sets in Bodrum, the town becomes a vibrant hub of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs to keep you entertained into the early hours.

If you’re visiting Bodrum this summer, here are five nightclubs that you really must visit…

  • Halikarnas: Since opening its doors for the first time in 1979, Halikarnas has become renowned as one of the world’s best clubs. The club is equipped with state-of-the-art sound systems, LED lighting, water screens, and 3D visuals; and attracts some of the best DJs in the world to play there. If you’re looking for a nightclub that will wow you with great music, and fantastic on stage entertainment like dancers and acrobats, then Halikarnas is a must-visit club.
  • Fink Club: This open-air nightclub has been in operation since 2002 and has firmly solidified itself as one of the best nightclubs in Bodrum, if not the whole of Turkey! Enter through a giant golden gate, and be wowed on the dance floor as a huge chandelier rotates above you. Fink has the capacity for up to 800 people, and is full and active every night throughout the summer. If you’re looking for good music to dance to and exotic cocktails to drink then Fink is the place.
  • Club Catamaran: Nightclubs on dry land are so last season! Club Catamaran is a floating nightclub situated in Bodrum’s bay, on the decks of a luxury catamaran boat. From June to September the ship plays host to media parties, fashion shows, and album launches, bringing some of the biggest DJs in the world to Bodrum. Head under deck and you’ll find six bars and lounges, connected by a glass dance floor that enables revellers to dance “on water”.
  • Hadigari: Bodrum’s oldest bar, Hadigari, opened its doors in 1974. Since then it has played host to some of the biggest names in the music world, including artists like Norah Jones, Teoman, Max Graham, Mercan Dede, and more. Hadigari recently relocated from its original location, and is now situated next to Bodrum castle and can hold up to 2000 people, making it one of the biggest nightclubs in Bodrum.
  • Kuba Bar: During the summer months, Kuba Bar is packed out every night with tourists and locals alike. The open-air bar is kitted out with swish countertops and plasma screens, with eclectic beats from jazz, to Latin, to chill-out house music pumping out through the speakers. The attached restaurant serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine, which you can enjoy in the open air during the warm summer months.
